A tuition-free public charter school rooted in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where every student is known, supported, and prepared for college, career, and life.
Bedford Stuyvesant New Beginnings Charter Schools began with a clear belief: every child in Brooklyn deserves a rigorous, supportive, and genuinely community-centered education. What started as a K to 8 school has grown into a full K to 11 educational community spanning two Brooklyn campuses, offering families an uninterrupted academic pathway from the earliest grades through high school.
The high school campus at 217 North 10th Street in Williamsburg opened to serve grades 9 through 11, with plans to expand to a full 9 through 12 program. In building this pathway, BSNBCS has made meaningful investments in student futures, including college savings seed funding for participating elementary students, hands-on technology programs in artificial intelligence, drones, coding, and music production, and real-world opportunities through internships and early college exposure.
BSNBCS High School is a tuition-free public charter school with no entrance examination. Admission is by lottery when applications exceed available seats, ensuring that the school remains accessible to every Brooklyn family seeking a high-quality, community-centered education for their child.
Every decision we make and every classroom interaction we foster is guided by these four foundational principles.
Families, educators, and community members join together to create a school where every student is genuinely known, valued, and supported from day one.
Standards-aligned instruction, small group support, and project-based learning combine to challenge every learner and build lasting academic confidence.
From AI and drone technology to music production and fabrication, students access hands-on programs that prepare them for careers that do not yet exist.
We prepare students to think critically, advocate for themselves, and use their talents to create opportunities for their families and their broader communities.
BSNBCS follows a whole-child, community-centered educational model that pairs rigorous, standards-aligned instruction with small-group support, project-based learning, and enrichment opportunities that make learning meaningful and engaging every single day.
With a 1:15 student to teacher ratio, every student receives targeted instruction, differentiated support, and the individual attention needed to master grade-level standards.
Assessment data and regular progress monitoring drive small-group instruction, one-on-one intervention, and tutoring to ensure no student falls behind without a plan in place.
Students work with Chromebooks, Adobe creative software, Canon cameras, drones, 3D printers, CNC machines, and coding and game design tools as part of everyday learning.
High school students access internships, early college opportunities, career exploration, international travel, and leadership development to build experience before graduation.
